The Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver has just released the March statistics, and the Housing Price Index shows a very marginal decline in prices, leading to stability with increased sales.

Compared to the month of March, 2008, the total residential units listed in the Westside are down by 22%, sales are down by 9%, and average prices are down approximately 12%.  The first quarter of 2009 compared to 2008 shows that sales are actually down 30%, but this takes into account a very slow January and early February.  March sales are more robust, and we are seeing the market find its balance.  Consumer confidence is finding its way back into the market.
